This project is for a competition to design an Indian heritage museum in Singapore.
The aim of the concept was to create a building that houses all aspects of the brief with a unique look quoting from Indian culture. One good example is the main facade which has stairs connecting the different levels. These stairs are ordered in such a way that they refer to the famously stepped wells of Rajasthan in India. A local Singaporean Indian artist was asked to do the mural painting.

PARISH BUILDING
HAELEN [NL]
This project is a parish building which, as per brief, should be able to function independently from the church. It also should be accessible from within the church building to conduct masses for children during normal services.
The anonymous front facade and the chosen finish make the extension submissive to the main church building.
The volume is moved to the boundary line creating a bufferzone between the new function and the main building. The facade on this side has only frameless windows from top to bottom with a small glass tunnel connection.
In the evening the church shines it’s light through the stained windows in the spaces of the parish.
